BATANG AI, March 31: The three-week-old waterpark at the Batang Ai Dam here is currently welcoming visitors and tourists looking to give thrilling water rides and family activities a spin.

Those looking for a heart-pumping experience are encouraged to try the jet skis, standing hydroplane towable tube, or the mega duck tube.

As for families and kids, there are paddling boats and a water-walking hamster ball. Other water sports such as canoeing and surfing are also available.

Half an hour of any of those rides is RM10 per adult and RM5 per child. Meanwhile, the two-seater jet skis are rented each for RM150 per half an hour.

The waterpark, which is just before the Batang Ai jetty, is open every day including public holidays from 9am to 6pm.

The D’Drift Team arrived at the waterpark at noon yesterday (March 29) and was greeted by a team of young chaps from Sibu who are currently running the place.

They said the waterpark is fairly new to the public, so they have been receiving less visitors during weekdays. Mostly, the park would have crowds during weekends or public holidays.

Fridays and Saturdays are also the days when the Batang Ai jetty and the market would get busy with the locals selling their fish catches of the week.
