According to a circular published by the Ministry yesterday, institutions under the Education Ministry will begin the phased implementation of the wearing of the Jalur Gemilang badges starting next month. This initiative aims to foster patriotism and national pride among both students and educators.

The Ministry said the wearing of the Jalur Gemilang badge will involve all government schools, government-aided schools, Matriculation Colleges, and Malaysian Teacher Education Institutes.

The Ministry stated that the 5cm x 2cm plastic Jalur Gemilang badge should be worn on the right side of the chest, aligned with the position of the student’s name tag. It emphasised that this badge must be worn uniformly by all students to demonstrate equality, togetherness, and pride in the country.

“The Education Ministry is committed to fostering a spirit of patriotism among all members, especially students. This initiative is also hoped to instill knowledge and love for the country of Malaysia in the hearts of today’s youth,” it said in the circular. – DayakDaily
