IT manager hit with 26 charges of CBT over three days

KUCHING, Aug 7: An IT and business support manager has claimed trial to 12 charges of criminal breach of trust (CBT) in three separate Sessions Court here, today.

The 42-year-old accused is facing multiple counts of CBT, as he had also received 14 charges on Monday (Aug 5).

The court fixed Sept 5 for pre trial case management for all the charges and allowed bail at RM2,000 with two local sureties.

According to today’s charges, the accused, as an employee in the capacity of an IT and business support manager, had allegedly committed breach of trust in respect to the collection money amounting RM20,276.54 between March and November, 2018, at Vivacity Megamall Management Office.

He was charged under Section 408 of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment between one year and 14 years, and liable to whipping and fine upon conviction.

DPP Ruthra Raj prosecuted at the three different Sessions Court, while the accused was represented by Counsel Norman Liew and Counsel Camillus Lau. — DayakDaily
