KUCHING, March 14: A consortium of investors from Malaysia and China have expressed their interest to invest in green materials manufacturing in Sarawak.
Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan met with these companies recently to discuss their proposal.
“This proposal is among many interested global investors who have expressed their interests to invest here (in Sarawak).
“Sarawak possesses many comparative advantages including availability of green hydropower which investors would leverage in their production as they strive to achieve carbon neutrality,” he said in a statement today.
Awang Tengah also said he welcomes any investments that are in line with Sarawak’s Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 which will create win-win situations for all via economic prosperity, social inclusivity and environmental sustainability.
He also said that MINTRED would help to facilitate the investors on their proposal.
In attendance were MINTRED Deputy Minister Datuk Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, MINTRED advisor Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, senior officers from various Sarawak government departments. — DayakDaily
