KUCHING, Sept 17: Bitcoin investors in Sarawak are advised to invest with traders licensed by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) to prevent uncertainty on expected returns.
In making this call, the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said traders endorsed by BNM and SC have the proper instruments for cryptocurrency investment, are regulated, and investors are not subjected to false information.
“This is good because I believe many investors do not know about these instruments.
“I think this is the right channel,” he said during a press conference after launching the SC’s InvestSmart Sarawak 2022 Fair held at VivaCity Megamall today.
Meanwhile, Abang Johari said SC’s InvestSmart Sarawak 2022 Fair could provide guidance for investors to safeguard their investments.
According to Abang Johari, recently, due to social media, sometimes the data and information given are not accurate to attract potential investors’ interest.
He said it is often mentioned that the returns will be better if one invests in an investment promoted on social media.
“As such, I would like to thank Securities Commission Malaysia for coming to Sarawak to provide an overview of how our investors can manage their funds through smart investing,” he added. — DayakDaily
