KUCHING, Apr 25: The government is intensifying efforts in controlling the country’s border and entry points to prevent the spread of new clusters from foreigners or illegal immigrants entering through illegal routes.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri in a press conference today said since the implementation of the MCO, a total of 84 individuals had been arrested for trespassing into the country using “lorong-lorong tikus”.

ā€œThat is why we are tightening the border patrol, because we do not want any spread from a new cluster, especially from import cluster, due to the illegal entry from the ‘lorong-lorong tikus'”, he said.

Ismail Sabri, who is also the Defence Minister disclosed that all the illegal entrypoints in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak had been identified by the authorities.

ā€œAs such, the country’s border patrol is being tightened and intensified for all the agencies involved,ā€ he added.ā€”DayakDaily.
