Injured owl brought to Matang Wildlife Centre for treatment

KUCHING, May 30: An injured owl in Bau was sent to receive treatment at Matang Wildlife Centre today.

According to Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC), the bird was sent by a ranger from the SFC to the centre for follow-up treatment after it was handed over by a concerned villager in the Bau district.

“The villager had given initially treated and fed the animal before contacting the SFC Kuching Regional Office with the help of the police,” it said in a Facebook post today.


All species of owls are protected animals under the Wildlife Ordinance 1998.
