KUCHING, May 30: Two Indonesian men were involved in an accident near the Nyalau Bridge along Jalan Pesisir Bintulu-Miri on Thursday (May 29), leaving one dead and the other seriously injured.
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 1.59pm, and firefighters from the Samalaju station were deployed.
Upon the firefighters’ arrival, it was noted that the accident involved a Toyota Hilux that was carrying the men.
One of the victims, identified as Dafid Duanda Putra, was thrown from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to Bintulu Hospital for treatment.
The other victim, identified only as Ikhsan, was found trapped in the driver’s seat. He was extricated and later pronounced dead by Health Ministry officials, who then handed his remains over to the police.
