Indonesian man charged with murder of two colleagues in Muara Tabuan

KUCHING, Aug 23: An Indonesian man was charged at the Magistrate’s Court here today with murdering two of his colleagues and causing serious hurt to a captain in Muara Tabuan.

No plea was taken from Kim Loi Ujin, 47, who faced three charges.


Magistrate Zaiton Anuar fixed Sept 24 this year for further mention of the case and ordered the accused to be further remanded.

He faced two charges under Section 302 of the Penal Code for allegedly causing death to Wong Jing Soon and Ngu Yu Soon inside a vessel, “Trikeen” which was docked at Muara Tabuan Light Industrial Park, at about 2.31am on Aug 16, 2021.

Section 302 of the Penal Code provides a mandatory death sentence, upon conviction.

He was also charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code for allegedly voluntarily causing hurt to Ngu Swee Hock inside a vessel, “Trikeen” which was docked at Muara Tabuan Light Industrial Park, at about 2.31am on Aug 16, 2021.

Section 324 of the Penal Code carries a maximum imprisonment of ten years or with fine or whipping or any two punishments, upon conviction.

Prosecuting officer Insp Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented by counsel. — DayakDaily
