KUCHING, Sept 4: Legendary Indonesian diva Hetty Koes Endang, affectionately known as ‘Bunda’, will perform live for the first time in northern Sarawak at the ‘Hetty Koes Endang & Friends Concert 2025’, scheduled at Miri Indoor Stadium on Sept 13, from 8pm to 10.30pm.

Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah described Hetty as a household name in the region, whose five-decade career and powerful performances have earned her devoted fans across Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei.

“Just mention her name and you will be assured the concert will be up to the mark.

“Even when she last performed in Kuching during a New Year countdown in the rain, she lifted the atmosphere to a level where everyone felt entertained,” he said at a press conference on the concert in Baitul Makmur II here today.

With a career spanning over five decades and more than 160 albums to her name, Hetty is best remembered for her classic hits including Damai Tapi Gersang—the 1977 duet with Ajie Bandi that became the first Indonesian song to win the World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo.

Her other well-loved songs such as Berdiri Bulu Roma Ku, Kasih, Dingin, Cinta, Rindu and Sayang continue to resonate across generations.

The concert will also feature Sarawak’s own talents, including Bob Yusof, Rickie Andrewson, Rosiana Urai and 12-year-old twins Aleysha and Ryan Zachary Van Der Horst, who won a gold medal at an international singing competition in the United States.

Organised by Borneo SuperAct Events (BSE), the Miri Indoor Stadium concert is expected to draw a full house despite its limited capacity of about 3,000 seats.

Meanwhile, BSE founder Datuk Eddie Abdullah, in a statement issued after the press conference, said tickets are available online via the Uber Tickets platform and in printed form for sale in Miri and nearby districts.

Over 3,000 tickets are offered in various categories: Diamond (RM588), Platinum (RM488), Gold (RM388), Silver (RM288), Cat 1 (RM208) and Cat 2 (RM188). Tickets can be purchased at https://hkefc.ubertickets.asia/.

He added that part of the concert’s net proceeds will be channelled to the Miri Breast Cancer Support Association (PERSOPAM) in line with the theme ‘A Concert with Charity in Mind’. – DayakDaily
