Indian national arrested in Serian eatery for violating SOPs

KUCHING, April 24: An Indian national was arrested by the police at an eatery in Serian for not complying with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the prevention of coronavirus.

The information was disclosed by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today.


SDMC added the police has also issued eight compounds, five in Sibu and three in Kuching for those violating the SOPs.

With that, the cumulative number of compounds issued in Sarawak as of today since March 18, 2020 has increased to 5,977.

At the same time, SDMC said the Local Government and Housing Ministry through the local authorities has also issued 29 compounds, 28 in Serian District Council and one by Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) for those violating the SOPs for the prevention of Covid-19. — DayakDaily
