KUCHING, Dec 17: Imperial Hotel Kuching continued its annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) tradition by hosting 26 students from Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Rituh, Serian to a Christmas buffet on Monday (Dec 16), giving them the opportunity to experience a festive celebration in a hotel setting.

In conjunction with the programme, the students also received “Back-to-School” gifts for the upcoming school term, which were presented by the hotel’s general manager Patrick Kuek.

Kuek said the initiative has been organised anually since the hotel began operations in 2014 or 2015, with a focus on supporting underprivileged students from rural schools.

“For Christmas, we always select a rural school and bring the students here so they can experience celebrating Christmas in a hotel and enjoy our food,” he told reporters after the event.

He added that the programme also includes the distribution of stationery and other school necessities to help prepare the students for the new academic year.

Last year, the CSR initiative benefited students from SK Plaie, underscoring Imperial Hotel Kuching’s ongoing commitment to uplifting rural communities through education-focused outreach programmes. — DayakDaily
