Illegal timber logs worth RM115,800 seized

The six Indonesians arrested by army personnel together with the seizure and other personal belongings.

BAU, Aug 2: A team of army personnel from the Royal Malay Regiment’s 11th Batallion seized illegal timber logs worth RM115,800 from a farm in Kampung Stass here today.

After receiving a tip-off, the team started to carry out surveillance on the illegal logging activities for more than 10 hours.


At 3.50pm today, they stopped a Mitsubishi Fuso truck with full load of sawn timber.

Initial investigation found that the sawn timber were to be smuggled out of Malaysia into Indonesia.

Six Indonesian men in the truck were also arrested and later handed over to the police in Bau.— DayakDaily
