KUCHING, May 30: Acting State Secretary Datu Jaul Samion confirms that permanent secretary of the Ministry of Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development Datu Ik Pahon Joyik has been appointed as Acting Deputy State Secretary.
Jaul told DayakDaily that Ik Pahon was only appointed on acting basis, just as he himself is acting on behalf of State Secretary Tan Sri Mohd Morshidi Abdul Ghani.
“He (Ik Pahon) is Acting Deputy State Secretary taking over my post while I am Acting State Secretary taking over Tan Sri Morshidi,” Jaul said.
Ik Pahon takes on the duty from Jaul effective today.
Apart from being a civil servant, Ik Pahon, of Bidayuh ethnicity, is also the president of Dayak Bidayuh National Association, an organisation formed to look after the affairs and welfare of the Bidayuh people. — DayakDaily
