KUCHING, April 4: The strategic collaboration between leading property developer Ibraco Berhad and the renowned HELP Education Group (HELP) led to the establishment of Tunku Putra-HELP School (TPHS) in January 2020, enhancing access to quality education for communities in and around Ibraco’s premier township, The NorthBank.
This partnership underscores Ibraco’s vision of integrating world-class institutions and service providers into its township developments, fostering a sustainable and enriching environment for residents.
Ibraco Group managing director Datuk Chew Chiaw Han affirmed Ibraco’s commitment to building more than just homes; but creating thriving communities.
“Our partnership with HELP reflects our dedication to providing a holistic living environment where education, sustainability, and community development come together,” he said in a media release today.
The NorthBank is a modern, self-sustaining township that seamlessly integrates residential, commercial, medical, and educational components. It offers a secure, convenient, and future-ready environment where families can live, work, learn, and play.
Ibraco’s investment in this first-in-Sarawak partnership strengthens the integration of educational excellence within its township developments. The collaboration is designed to support the continued growth of both TPHS and The NorthBank, while also expanding their footprint across Sarawak and beyond.
“At TPHS, we believe education is the foundation of strong communities. Through our partnership with Ibraco, we provide transformative learning experiences that prepare students for the future while instilling a strong sense of social responsibility,” said Dr Gerard D. Louis, Group Co-CEO of HELP Education Group.

TPHS offers both national and international curricula for kindergarten, primary, secondary, and A-Level students. The international programme follows the British Education Curriculum, culminating in IGCSE and Cambridge International Examination (CIE) A-Level qualifications.
Meanwhile, the national programme adheres to Malaysia’s Primary and Secondary School Standard Curriculum (KSSR and KSSM), with Mathematics and Science further enriched by Singaporean and British syllabi. By blending the strengths of Western and Eastern education, students develop higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) and acquire essential 21st-century competencies.
Beyond academics, TPHS fosters holistic student development. Upper secondary students have the opportunity to participate in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, which equips them with life skills, promotes physical fitness, nurtures a spirit of adventure, and encourages community service.
This year, Ibraco is further supporting TPHS in its pursuit of global excellence. Students have been selected to represent Sarawak and Malaysia at the prestigious International Creativity and Innovation Award (ICIA 2025) in Vietnam this April. This platform provides young innovators with the opportunity to showcase their technological advancements and problem-solving skills on the international stage.
Over the next five years, Ibraco and TPHS will focus on advancing academic excellence, strengthening community engagement, enhancing school facilities, and integrating technology and sustainability-focused education. This aligns with The NorthBank’s ongoing infrastructure development, ensuring a future-ready learning environment.
To maximise impact, Ibraco and TPHS actively collaborate with local authorities and align their initiatives with Sarawak’s digitalisation, innovation, energy, and transportation goals.
Through HELP University’s Yayasan programme, TPHS also supports teacher training initiatives to elevate regional educational standards.
Additionally, Ibraco plays a key role in government infrastructure projects, including the Kuching Urban Transportation System, reinforcing its commitment to long-term urban development.
With a strong focus on sustainability, education, and community enrichment, Ibraco’s leadership in urban development, combined with TPHS’s dedication to nurturing future generations, ensures a lasting positive impact on Sarawak’s communities. — DayakDaily
