KUCHING, Feb 6: Ibraco Berhad and FAME International College have forged a partnership agreement to build a state-of-the-art campus in Tabuan Tranquility here.
The new FAME International College Campus, which can accommodate a capacity of 1,500 people, is expected to be completed and operational in 2026.
Sarawak’s Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, said the partnership is aligned with the Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s vision to prioritise the development of a well-trained and knowledgeable human capital with a world-class education system for Sarawak to achieve a high income and developed State status by 2030.
“Therefore, you (Ibraco Berhad and FAME International College) have a big mission to accomplish—a world-class education system to generate a new generation of human capital to help Sarawak propel towards our goal to become a high-income and developed State by 2030.
“Thank you to FAME International College and Ibraco Berhad for coming together to write another very exciting chapter in Sarawak’s story,” he said during the signing ceremony held at Ibraco Gallery, The Northbank today.
The new FAME International College Campus will be a 7-storey purpose-built building with 60,000 square feet of space.
The building will house a lecture theatre, classrooms, tutorial rooms, skills training rooms, academic rooms, a 5,000 square feet student lounge, multimedia lab and a library.
There will be a rooftop multi-functional court which can be used for sports and recreational activities.
FAME currently offers programmes from certificate to bachelor degree levels and professional qualification and certifications.
Programmes offered include majors in accounting and finance, digital business, business administration, computer science (data science) and entrepreneurship.
New programmes to be launched are financial technology, software engineering and supply chain management in conjunction with the completion of the new campus building.
At the ceremony, the partnership agreement was signed by Ibraco Berhad’s chief financial officer, Lily Tang and FAME International College managing director, Eddie Wee.
Also present were FAME International College chairman Ikhwan Zaidel; chief executive officer David Chew; Ibraco Berhad’s assistant to Group managing director, May Wong; and chief marketing officer George Ting. — DayakDaily
