KUCHING, Dec 14: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian said he works long hours not for political reasons, but because he believes in working hard for Sarawak.
He gave a brief glimpse of his schedule, saying he slept at 3am the night before, but his first function the next day started at 7.30am.
“Last night I slept at 3am. My first function the next day started at 7.30am. Yesterday I had 10 functions.
“What do you think I work hard for? Election? No! I work hard for Sarawak,” he said when speaking at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Annual Dinner held here tonight.
He then urged MBKS staff to also work hard with the same mindset, saying Sarawak’s development would not happen by itself if everyone did not play their part.
“Sarawak in 2025 is a different Sarawak from 2015. In the past, people looked down on the State and its people.
“Now everybody looks at Sarawak. They put hope on Sarawak,” he said.
Also present were MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, Deputy Mayor Dato Zaiedi Suhaili, and former mayors Datuk Song Swee Guan and Dato James Chan Khay Syn. – DayakDaily
