Husband, wife found dead in Sri Aman house, police open murder probe

KUCHING, Jan 14: A married couple was found dead with severe injuries inside their home at Taman Mutiara, Sri Aman, in what police are investigating as a murder case under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

According to a statement from the Sarawak Contingent Police Headquarters, Sri Aman District Police received a report from a member of the public at about 6.55am today regarding the discovery of a husband and wife who were unconscious inside a house along Jalan Brayun.

Police officers from the Sri Aman District Police Headquarters, together with medical personnel from Sri Aman Hospital, were immediately dispatched to the scene.

“Initial examinations confirmed that both victims—a 45-year-old man and his 44-year-old wife—had died at the location,” the statement said.

Police confirmed that the case is being investigated as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code. The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation, and efforts to gather evidence and record witness statements are ongoing.
