KUCHING, Feb 27: The police found some human skeletal remains scattered near the roadside of Mile 11 of FAC Road at Matang on Tuesday (Feb 25).
A local farmer made the gruesome find at the location while he was carrying out his daily routine of looking for some grass to feed his cattle.
Padawan Police Chief Superintendent Aidil Bolhassan in a statement said following the information received from the local farmer, other items were also found within 20 meter radius of where the human bones were.
According to Aidil, among the items found were a T-shirt imprinted with the name of a local private college, a pair of blue-color jeans, and a pair of size-7 black-colored sports shoes, a blue-colored beg with the logo of a public university and a Hellyhansan size-S jacket.
“The Forensic unit of Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) in Kuching had confirmed that the skeletal remains belong to an adult based on the size of the bones and skull.
“At the moment, the Forensic Department still could not confirm the time-of-death based on the bones due to weather and environmental variability.
“The case is classified as sudden death,” said Aidil.
Aidil called for anyone whose family member or relative is missing to come forward to assist in the investigation.
The public with any information regarding the case can to to the nearest police station or contact the Investigating Officer, Batu Kawa Chief Police Inspector Noh Pojak at 082-463412 or 019-8470303. — DayakDaily
