KUCHING, Nov 14: A house located at Lorong Matang Jaya 6B1, Taman Matang here was 80 per cent damaged in a fire today.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, they received a call regarding the incident at 9.33am.
The operations commander reported that the house’s occupants were not home during the incident.
“At the time of the fire, the occupants were not in the house and the door was locked from the outside. Firefighters had to break the front door to get into the house.
“The fire also involved a Perodua Kenari vehicle in the parking lot of the house, which was 40 per cent burnt,” read the report.
“The fire was successfully controlled from spreading to the house next door and did not result in any injuries. The cause and total loss from the incident are still under investigation,” it said. — DayakDaily
