SIBU, March 15: An afternoon fire has partially destroyed a double storey house at Batu 2, Jalan Oya today.
Fire and Rescue department (Bomba) operations centre said the fire, which was reported at 12.06pm started from the upper floor.
A total of 18 firefighters led by TPgB II Abdul Mutalif Ja’afar from Sibu and Sungai Merah station were deployed to the scene.
They began their operation by extinguishing the flames to prevent it from spreading to nearby structure.
No injuries or fatalities were reported.
The tenants, a couple with three young children, aged between two and seven years, were not at home during the incident. — DayakDaily
