BETONG, Oct 4: A house in Kampung Posa Hilir here was badly damaged after a fire broke out in a bedroom early this morning.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Betong station received a distress call at 1.22am from the Betong police station.
A team of eight firefighters led by PBK I Henry Jugah rushed to the scene where they found an area of 20 x 30 metre of the single-storey house had been burnt.
Henry informed that the blaze started from one of the bedrooms and spread inside the house.
“About 40 per cent of the building structure was damaged but no one was injured,” he said.
“Villagers managed to extinguish the flames using pipe waters,” he added.
At the scene, firefighters inspected the entire house to ensure flames have been completely doused as well as getting information about the fire.— DayakDaily
