House, car at Kpg Sinar Budi Baru consumed in early morning blaze

KUCHING, Aug 8: A single-storey house and a car at Kampung Sinar Budi Baru in Jalan Batu Kawa was destroyed in a fire early this morning.

Fortunately, the 29-year-old male resident managed to escape unharmed, according to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak.

Responding to a distress call at 3.35am, teams from both Bomba Batu Lintang and Tabuan Jaya stations swiftly arrived at the scene.

Firefighters immediately controlled and extinguished the flames, successfully bringing the situation under control by 4.18am.

Overhauling works were also conducted to ensure the complete extinguishing of all sources of fire. The operation concluded at 4.50am.

Bomba Sarawak reported that the cause of the fire and the extent of the loss are currently under investigation. — DayakDaily
