KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 12: Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin was tested positive for Covid-19.
The Home Ministry in a statement today said Hamzah underwent the Covid-19 swab test yesterday (January 11) and was informed by the Health Ministry that he was tested positive for Covid-19 this morning.
The ministry said Hamzah will be undergoing quarantine and being monitored closely by health authorities.
Meanwhile, Hamzah was the third minister to be tested positive for Covid-19 in less than a week.
Yesterday, Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun was tested positive for Covid-19.
Last Sunday, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed was also tested positive for Covid-19 upon arrival at Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
Minister in the Prime Minister Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri was tested positive for Covid-19 in October last year. — DayakDaily
