“The new building will house the Hikmah administrative headquarters and two halls that can accommodate 1,500 people and 2,300 people at any one time, respectively.

“The Premier has also approved the construction of a Tahfiz primary school with the cost to be borne by Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS).

“The new school will be able to accommodate at least 540 students at any one time,” he said when speaking during Harakah Islamiah’s (Hikmah) 21st Triennial Delegates Assembly (TDA) at Hikmah Exchange here today.

Abdul Aziz also mentioned that Hikmah Education Committee has drafted a comprehensive education eco-system which starts with the improvement of Tadika Hikmah to Tadika Tahfiz where all 13 kindergartens under Hikmah’s care will produce a young generation who are Al Quran-literate.

Afterwards, the children will be enrolled in Hikmah Tahfiz Primary School which is currently operating at Hikmah headquarters.

Plans are also underway for Hikmah to establish a Tahfiz Secondary School.

“The ecosystem is continued by offering our tahfiz students who have passed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) to further their studies at the upcoming Hikmah Islamic Technology College (HITEC).

“To date, HITEC has been approved by Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and it is currently formulating modules for Cyber Security Diploma and Multimedia Diploma (programmes) in collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas),” he added.

Speaking to reporters after the event, Abang Johari revealed that the total cost of the building is around RM40 million. — DayakDaily
