Higher Education Ministry ready to support Sarawak’s aerospace education plans

KUCHING, Oct 17: The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) is prepared to support Sarawak’s initiative to establish aerospace courses at state-owned institutions, said its minister, Dato Seri Diraja Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.

In a news report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Dr Zambry highlighted that discussions with Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg have so far focused on the advancement of higher education in Sarawak, with a special emphasis on future plans for the sector.

“We discussed long-term strategies, including the preparation of a comprehensive education plan from 2026 to 2035,” said Dr Zambry, speaking to reporters after a courtesy visit to Abang Johari here yesterday (Oct 16).

The minister further stated that MoHe is ready to collaborate at the university level, with teams from public higher learning institutions (IPTA) fully committed to supporting Sarawak in its plans.

After the courtesy visit, the Premier attended the launch of Demanlink Connexion Sdn Bhd’s new office in Kuching, an event aimed at boosting the State’s digitalisation efforts.

He was accompanied by Sarawak Minister for Utility and Telecommunication (MUT), Datuk Sri Julaihi Narawi, Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Sarawak Deputy Minister for Utility and Telecommunication (MUT), Datuk Liwan Lagang, and other prominent figures. — DayakDaily
