High-impact projects to drive Sarikei’s development, economic growth

SARIKEI, Dec 31: High-impact projects like the Jalan Pasi to Tanjung Manis road upgrade, agropark and collection, processing and packaging centre (CPPC) will definitely chart a path to future prosperity and provide a boost for the economic growth of Sarikei.

In a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Dato Sri Huang Tiong Sii said the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government has transformed the landscape of Sarikei district with rapid development.

“This can be seen through various high-impact projects that have been approved by Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg in Sarikei.

“We should be thankful and grateful to the far-sighted Premier as appreciation in helping to develop Sarikei into a high-income district in the future,” he said when speaking at the 2023 New Year celebration held at Sarikei Central Hall here yesterday (Dec 30).

As such, Huang who is also Sarikei MP, called on the people in Sarikei to continue giving their strongest support to the GPS government to enable continuous rapid development to take place.

He also extended his appreciation and thanks to Sarikei people for their collaboration and support in the last 15th General Election (GE15) that has enabled him to be elected into the office.

Huang, who is also Repok assemblyman, also reiterated his pledge to continue making every effort to develop the education in Repok constituency through allocations from the Sarawak government, apart from providing assistance for school material every year to all students.

“Residents in Sarikei who need help and assistance can always submit their application and appeal to my service centre in Sarikei and Meradong,” he added. — DayakDaily
