In a press release, Hidup chairman George Young Si-Ricord Junior said that three villages were invited to a presentation about bamboo planting.

The villages involved were Kampung Nyiru Grait, Kampung Git, and Kampung Bawang, with the talk held at the Kampung Nyiru Grait hall, Jalan Puncak Borneo.

During the talk, STIDC representative Nizam Abdullah shared knowledge about bamboo marketing, its products, and the various ways bamboo can be utilised.

Participants learned how the Bamboo Industry Development Plan ensures a sustainable supply of high-value commercial bamboo resources, and how it develops and promotes high value-added bamboo-based products for export and the domestic market.

George hoped that the talk would draw more participation from the communities in Puncak Borneo.

The press release said there was a positive response from the participants, as every attendee filled out the Community Bamboo Project application form.

Participants were also invited to visit the Sabal Bamboo Nursery to gain firsthand knowledge of bamboo plants and better understand silviculture management. ā€” DayakDaily
