Heavy rain, thunderstorm warnings issued for Kapit, Bintulu until 7pm (Jan 1)

KUCHING, Jan 1: Heavy rain and thunderstorm warnings have been issued for Kapit and Bintulu, including Tatau and Sebauh, until 7pm today.

In an advisory notice issued at 3.55pm, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) predicted heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in the affected districts.

The warning is triggered when a thunderstorm with rainfall exceeding 20mm per hour is expected to last for more than an hour.
