KUCHING, Sept 10: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several areas in Sarawak, effective until this evening.
According to MetMalaysia, thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds are expected to affect Kuching (Lundu and Kuching), Samarahan, Sibu (Kanowit), and Kapit (Song).

The warning, which was issued at 3.15pm today, will remain in effect until 6pm.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per issuance,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
