SIBU, Sept 20: The first flight scheduled to land at Sibu Airport had to be diverted to Miri Airport due to haze this morning.

Sibu Malaysia Airports Sdn Bhd (MASB) manager Zainuddin Abu Nasir informed that the flight from Kota Kinabalu had difficulty in landing caused by thick fog and low clouds.

The visibility condition as at 6.48am was only 500 metres.

Yesterday, three flights from Kota Kinabalu (Air Asia), Kuala Lumpur (Air Asia) and Bintulu (MasWings) which were expected to arrive in Sibu between 7.30am to 8am had to be diverted to Miri.

Meanwhile, the Air Pollutant Index (API) reading in Sibu has reached 204 as at 7am today.— DayakDaily
