KUCHING, Nov 29: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is confident that it can win all 82 seats in the 12th Sarawak Election.

Its chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has called on GPS machinery to enter the battlefield with the spirit of fighting for Sarawak and not for personal gain.

“I can assure you that we will go to the battlefield as a team and in one spirit to protect the rights of Sarawak and develop the State.

“Sarawakians are more important, and we will fight under one spirit to serve Sarawak (which is) under the name of GPS.

“If we (GPS) go into the field with one spirit, we can sweep clean all 82 seats,” he said.

He said this during the launching of GPS machinery at the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) headquarters in Jalan Bako last night.

Abang Johari further thanked Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) for not fielding its candidates in the coming State polls.

He said GPS’ allies such as Barisan Nasional (BN) do not dare to contest in Sarawak because they are aware that the political environment in the State is different than in Malaya.

“We are friendly (to our allies), but we are firm (in our decision of not giving way to Malayan parties),” he added. — DayakDaily
