KUCHING, Feb 1: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will not give “even an inch” of any State seat to rival parties in the next Sarawak election, says Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) supreme council member Datuk Abdullah Saidol.
Speaking to reporters after joining the Walk of Health Programme this morning, Abdullah said GPS would not compromise any seat with other parties, stressing the coalition’s confidence in managing Sarawak’s political landscape independently.
“As a PBB supreme council member, my stance is clear: GPS will contest every seat in Sarawak. We will not give even an inch to any other party.
“Of course, the final decision rests with the GPS chairman and PBB president (Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg), but I believe GPS can manage on its own,” he said.
Abdullah, who is also Semop assemblyman, further highlighted the importance of advancing Sarawak without external interference.
He cautioned political actors, particularly from Peninsular Malaysia, against actions that could destabilise the State’s political environment.
“I advise certain individuals, especially from the Peninsula, who may want to stir unrest, to be careful. Once the public becomes anxious, it can be difficult to control.
“We hope that by Malaysia Day 2026, the situation will be more stable. Don’t let political rhetoric aimed at popularity lead to chaos,” he added. – DayakDaily
