MIRI, Dec 6: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) does not feel threatened by the presence of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) as the state’s ruling coalition is still the “rakyat’s choice”.

Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Telang Usan chief Dennis Ngau opined that Sarawak had been doing better under GPS ever since it parted ways with the Barisan Nasional (BN).

“We (GPS) have faced numerous challenges and we managed to withstand difficulties throughout the years.

“This is our land and our right to protect it from an outside party,” he said.

Dennis said despite the excitement of certain quarters over the launching of Bersatu Sarawak in Bintulu recently, he believed Sarawakians still prefer GPS to administer the state.

“GPS is still the rakyat’s choice,” he said and advised Sarawakians not to be hoodwinked by Bersatu’s political agenda.

“It’s not a funfair kind of thing. If we give them a chance to rule this state, we will definitely go back to the situation when we were attached to BN (Barisan Nasional),” he said.

Dennis maintained that Sarawak must be run by a coalition of local-based parties, which is GPS. — DayakDaily
