KUCHING, Dec 6: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is sending a fresh face in the person of Royston Valentine to retain the Tellian seat in the 12th Sarawak Election, replacing single-term incumbent Yussibnosh Balo.
The 35-year-old candidate will face off against Arwin Lim Abdullah of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Zainuddin Budug of Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) and Sait Junaidi of Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB).
Royston who is a member of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth, is an undergraduate in Business Management from the Open University Malaysia and a local chap from Mukah.
The Tellian seat which was created in a 2015 redelineation exercise was won by Yussibnosh who secured 5,087 votes in the 2016 Sarawak Election against Asini@Hasni Yahya of PKR who only secured 666 votes. – DayakDaily
