KUCHING, Dec 31: The new year should serve as a period to reinforce collective resolve, sharpen the effectiveness of policies and programmes, and ensure that every effort is translated into outcomes that deliver shared benefits for Sarawak and her people.
Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said this in his New Year message as the State ushers in 2026.
Extending New Year greetings to the people of Sarawak, Wan Junaidi, together with his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, expressed hope that the year ahead would bring peace, clarity of direction and strength of spirit to the community.
“In this regard, the spirit of togetherness, mutual respect and strong bonds among Sarawakians must continue to be preserved and upheld as the bedrock of Sarawak’s stability, progress and overall well-being,” he said.
Wan Junaidi also prayed for the people to be blessed with lasting good health, harmony within families, success in all endeavours, and a sustained atmosphere of peace and prosperity.
Looking ahead, he said the new year should be a time for reflection and gratitude, while encouraging Sarawakians to move forward with renewed determination in building a stronger future for Sarawak and generations to come. — DayakDaily
