GOF seizes 20,000 litres of diesel and petrol in Bintulu

BINTULU, Nov 12: The General Operations Force (GOF) seized 20,000 litres of diesel and petrol including four engine pumps worth RM52,840 yesterday, at a house at KM21 of Jalan Bintulu-Miri.

GOF Battalion 12 commanding officer, Supt Tan Hiap Seng, said the seized diesel and petrol during its “Ops Libas” have no valid documentation permit from the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP).


“Acting on a tip-off, our men raided a house and recovered the items being kept inside the house. A man believed to be the caretaker of the premise had fled the scene and ran into the bushes when he realised our team approaching,” Tan told reporters.

Further investigation revealed the seized petrol and diesel were sold at higher rates to nearby estates, he continued.

The case is being investigated under Section 20(1) of the Control Act 1961. — DayakDaily
