KUCHING, July 7: The Sessions Court here sentenced a general worker to an imprisonment term of 15 months for attacking his wife with a knife.
Gedion Nakup, 27, pleaded guilty at Sessions Court here today.
Sessions Court Judge Mohd Taufik Mohd Yusoff accepted his plea of guilty and convicted him as charged.
Judge Mohd Taufik sentenced him to an imprisonment of 15 months, from the date of arrest.
He was accused of striking his wife in the head with a knife at an industrial park quarters, on July 3, 2020, at about 1.30am over a disagreement.
He was charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code and read together with Section 326 of the same code, which carries imprisonment term which may extend to 10 years or with fine or with whipping or with any two of such punishment upon conviction.
DPP Danial Ilham Kamaruddin prosecuted while the accused is unrepresented by Counsel.—DayakDaily
