KUCHING, Sept 9: Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) branches have until the end of September to submit their list of potential candidates for the 15th General Election (GE15).

Sarawak PKR chief Roland Engan said the nomination of potential candidates must be supported by the meeting minutes from the respective branch committee meetings.

“We will conduct a background check on the potential candidates, including getting feedback from the ground,” he said in a press conference on Jelajah Harapan Sarawak (JHS) at the PKR Sarawak office in Gala City today.

Engan pointed out that this time there will be no ‘parachute candidates’ for Sarawak PKR.

“The list will be endorsed by the federal PKR headquarters,” he added.

On the same note, Engan, nominated to contest in Baram parliamentary seat, said Pakatan Harapan (PH) would use the coalition logo for the coming GE15.

“Whatever logo we introduced before GE15, for the sake of unity, we must adopt one common logo,” he said.

Meanwhile, Engan said the JHS will start today (Sept 9) in Puncak Borneo parliamentary constituency and then to Sri Aman, Lubok Antu, Betong, Kanowit, Selangau, Sibuti and lastly, Miri on Sept 16.

He pointed out that Hulu Rajang, Baram, Lawas, and Limbang will be covered in the next JHS 2.0.

“The potential candidates for each respected area will be the host for the JHS,” he said. — DayakDaily
