KUCHING, Nov 4: Bandar Kuching, Santubong and Petra Jaya will be experiencing road closures from 6.30am on nomination day for the 15th General Election (GE15) tomorrow (Nov 5).
In Bandar Kuching (P195), the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) roundabout up until Jalan Padungan would be temporarily closed to make way for nomination to be held at the MBKS community hall.
In Santubong (P193), Jalan Kemahiran will not be available while in Petra Jaya (P194), the intersection from Jalan Semarak to Jalan Duranta will not be accessible.
According to Kuching police district chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah in a statement today, the abovementioned roads would be re-opened as soon as the nomination of candidates ends.
“The police hope that all parties give their full cooperation and obey the law for a smoother nomination process,” he added.
Nomination centres are usually open at 9am for any candidate nomination paper submissions until 10am.
After the papers are reviewed, returning officers will announce those eligible to become candidates for their respective seats. — DayakDaily
