BAU, Sept 18: Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) has named its candidates for the Mas Gading and Saratok parliamentary seats in the coming 15th General Election (GE15).

For Mas Gading, the party has chosen 47-year-old Lidang Disen, while Giendam Jonathan Tait, 49, will be the party’s candidate for Saratok.

This was revealed by PDP president Dato Sri Tiong King Sing during a gathering at Bau Civic Centre today.

The gathering was in conjunction with the launching of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) operations room for the Mas Gading parliamentary constituency.

At a press conference later, PDP vice-president Dato Henry Harry Jinep reaffirmed the announcement by Tiong earlier.

“As far as PDP is concerned, we have no other names apart from Lidang (for Mas Gading) and Giendam (for Saratok), which means we are prepared to submit their names to the top GPS leadership,” Henry, who is Tasik Biru assemblyman, said.

Henry hoped that the people in Mas Gading would support Lidang, adding that the working relationship of the MPs and assemblypersons ought to come from GPS for more significant development and the voices strongly heard at the federal level to get back the rights of the State under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

Henry also added that teamwork among the GPS component parties in Mas Gading is vital in winning back the seat from Democratic Action Party (DAP). — DayakDaily
