KUCHING, Nov 20: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the coalition has yet to receive any call from his potential Peninsular Malaysia’s counterparts on any deal or partnership to form a mixed Federal government.

He said he has yet to get any details on the polling situation in Peninsular Malaysia but admitted that there is a possibility that the next Federal government formed will be a mixed of coalitions.

“But how the mix of coalitions will be, we will wait first,” he told a press conference held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) last night.

When a reporter filled him in that Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) were neck and neck on the seat count at press time, Abang Johari replied, “The question of whether (who) GPS will (choose to work with) will be decided later.”

Asked how soon can the decision take place, he said GPS will have to wait for the Peninsular Malaysian parties to contact them.

“To date, not yet. Maybe they are still counting. So we just wait-lah (sic),” he added.

In the 15th General Election (GE15) which took place yesterday, GPS won 23 out of the 31 parliamentary seats in Sarawak. — DayakDaily
