KUCHING, April 28: It is a three-cornered fight in Petra Jaya, where Barisan Nasional (BN) incumbent Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof will face off with Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s (PKR) Datuk Dr Nor Irwan Ahmat Nor and PAS’ Hamdan Sani.
Returning officer Jumaini Haili announced it at the Petra Jaya nomination centre at SMK Petra Jaya here at about 11am today.
Fadillah, 55, has held the Petra Jaya seat since 2004. His majority in the 2013 general election was 21,443 votes against PKR’s Nazib Johari who polled 8,116.
Nor Irwan, 42, a PhD holder, is a resident of Kampung Laruh Skim, Petra Jaya.
Hamdan, 31, who hails from Kampung Samariang Jaya, is a graduate of UiTM and presently, the director of Institut Perguruan PASTI Sarawak. — DayakDaily
