KUCHING, April 24: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) promises to deliver all the six seats allocated to it in the upcoming 14th General Election (GE14) to reciprocate the trust top Barisan Nasional leadership has for the party.
Its president Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing expressed his gratitude to the top BN leadership namely BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak and state BN chairman Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for accepting the candidate list proposed by the party.
“I want to thank the (caretaker) Prime Minister (Najib) and the Chief Minister (Abang Johari) for having the trust in me and PRS by accepting all of our nominated candidates to contest in GE14,” said Masing who is also Deputy Chief Minister in a statement today.
He took the initiative to make the promise to deliver all the seats allocated to the party.
“The ball is at our feet. We need to deliver all the six seats to the (caretaker) Prime Minister and the Chief Minister. I have made that promise,” said Masing.
This morning, Abang Johari announced the full list of 31 candidates for state BN at Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) headquarters.
PRS which has traditionally been allocated six parliamentary seats nominated four incumbents respectively for Sri Aman (Datuk Masir Kujat), Julau (Datuk Joseph Salang), Hulu Rajang (Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong) and Kanowit (Aaron Ago Dagang), as well as two new faces — Rita Insol for Selangau and Robert Pasang Alam for Lubok Antu.
The list was accepted by both top leaders of BN. — DayakDaily
