‘Gastronomy and I: My Favourite Dish’ writing competition: 20 shortlisted stories to be announced on June 17

KUCHING, June 4: A total of 10 shortlisted entries will be selected from each of the Adult and Youth Categories of DayakDaily’s ‘Gastronomy and I: My Favourite Dish’ writing competition following its submission deadline yesterday (June 3).

The total list of 20 shortlisted stories will be announced on June 17 on DayakDaily.com and any other DayakDaily platforms associated with the competition.

The 20 winning candidates will also be informed personally, either through email or phone, and invited to the prize-giving ceremony, which date is to be revealed in due time.

DayakDaily received altogether 266 entries, with 170 submissions under the Adult Category and the remaining 96 under the Youth Category.

The number of submissions this year has increased by 74 per cent as compared to 153 entries last year in the ‘Magnificent Sarawak: An Unforgettable Trip’ writing competition.

The ‘Gastronomy and I: My Favourite Dish’ writing competition was open only for Sarawakians aged 12 and above.

Participants were required to write about one of their favourite dishes available in Sarawak using 500 words and at least one original photo.

From the pool of shortlisted entries, five winners (Gold, Silver, Bronze, and two Consolations) will be selected from each category.

Other than cash prizes, vouchers, trophies and certificates, all winning articles will also be published on DayakDaily.com and DayakDaily’s other social media platforms.

The winners will only be announced at the prize-giving ceremony and not anytime earlier than that.
