Fully vaccinated foreign patients entering Sarawak need to undergo 7-day quarantine in hospitals

The latest standard operating procedures (SOP) on medical tourism released by State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) updated on Oct 20.

KUCHING, Oct 26: Fully vaccinated patients from outside Malaysia entering Sarawak for medical tourism purposes are required to undergo a seven-day quarantine in hospitals.

In the latest standard operating procedures (SOP) to enter Sarawak released by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) updated on Oct 20, partially vaccinated patients will need to undergo a quarantine period of 10-days in hospitals.

The patients need to have a negative Covid-19 reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (rt-PCR) swab test three days prior to entering Malaysia, as well as apply for entry through the EnterSarawak app and complete and submit the electronic health declaration form (e-HDF).

SDMC said only one fully vaccinated companion is allowed to accompany the patient.

For non-Malaysians, the documents the patients need to submit include their Covid-19 vaccination certificate, negative rt-PCR results, copy of their passport, flight itinerary, approved myTravel Pass, medical conditions verified by hospital, arrangement for ambulance for pick up at point of entry to hospital for quarantine, receipt of payment for medical arrangement and letter from hospital for treatments or appointments. — DayakDaily
