Also present were Audrey Wan Ullok, Honorary Consul of France in Kuching, and members of the French community residing in Sarawak.

“Through its Francophone Tour, the Embassy of France in Malaysia seeks to strengthen ties between France and the various federal states of Malaysia, in education—six schools in Sarawak currently offer French language teaching, with a large number of students sitting the DELF scolaire examinations each year—as well as in higher education and research, where cooperation is already in place with UNIMAS and UCSI,” it said.

In the cultural field, a “French Corner” has been established at the Sarawak State Library, with discussions underway to further develop the space and explore French participation in the Kuching Food Festival next year. – DayakDaily
