Four arrested for drug-related offences in three separate incidents

KOTA SAMARAHAN, Aug 22: Police arrested a 25-year-old Chinese national woman and a 34-year-old local man suspected of drug possession at a house in Lorong Uni Central here at 2.30pm on Wednesday (Aug 21).

Sarawak Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) head Supt Hasnir Abdul Hamid, who confirmed the arrest, said 10 pink pills, believed to be Ecstasy, in two plastic packets weighing about 6.29 grammes and valued around RM500 were found in one of the bedrooms.


Hasnir added that both suspects were jobless but drug tests on them came back negative.

In a separate case, police arrested an 18-year-old jobless man during a raid at a house in Kampung Tanjung Bundong here at 11.05am yesterday.

Acting on a public tip off and surveillance, police discovered 57 straws containing crystal-like substance, believed to be Syabu, in a black sling bag in the storeroom.

His urine tested positive of Amphetamine.

Over in Sibu, police arrested a 22-year-old unemployed man suspected of drug possession at Jalan Bako at about 4pm yesterday.

Hasnir informed that the man was stopped by a team of policemen who conducted a body search but failed to find any drugs on him.

It was when police inspected his car that he took out a black plastic bag which was placed underneath the car and handed it over to the authority.

He added that police checked the bag and found three plastic packets containing substance believed to be Syabu and weighed about 17 grammes.

All the cases are being investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.— DayakDaily
