KUCHING, Dec 14: Four local men were arrested for their involvement in cockfighting activities in Siniawan, during “Ops Dadu”, yesterday.
Bau police chief DSP Poge Nyaon in a statement, revealed that all four individuals, aged between 24 to 43-year old, were arrested under Section 3(1) of Cruelty to Animals Act 1962.
He said the arrest was made by a team of police from Bau district police headquarter (IPD Bau), at an open field behind a house at Kampung Sungai Pinang, in Siniawan, Bau, during “Ops Dadu” on Sunday (Dec 13).
Among the items seized during the raid were five units of cockfighting spurs, one live and one dead cockerel, together with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Poge added initial background check on all four individuals revealed no previous offense record. — DayakDaily
