Foreign woman among four arrested over murder at Jalan Airport

MIRI, Feb 13: A foreign woman was amongst four individuals detained by the cops here yesterday, following the discovery of a dead body at Jalan Airport.

The deceased, identified as a foreign man, had stab wounds to his ribs, disclosed Miri Police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu in a statement today.

According to Alexson, the police were notified by the public around 7.25pm about the discovery of the man’s body.


“Upon receiving the report, a Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team was sent to the scene to investigate,” he said.

It is believed that the man had been stabbed during a fight which occurred earlier.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, which carries the mandatory death penalty upon conviction.
